MiggoHub is committed to protecting your privacy and personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your information when you use our educational platform about Australian immigration.
We collect the following information when you use MiggoHub:
- Personal identification information: full name, email, date of birth, nationality, and current country of residence.
- Migration profile information: English level, education level, occupation, years of work experience, primary migration goal, history of previous visa applications.
- Conversation data: messages exchanged with our educational chatbot, information voluntarily provided during conversations (IELTS, PTE or other English test scores, job offer details, information about partner or family members, preferences for Australian city or region, estimated migration timelines).
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, session time, essential session cookies.
We use your data for the following purposes:
- Provide educational self-assessments: calculate estimated points for skilled migration visas (subclass 189, 190, 491), offer general information about eligibility for different visa types, provide indicative cost and timeline estimates based on publicly available official information.
- Personalize your experience: remember your profile and preferences, adapt chatbot responses based on your migration situation, offer relevant information according to your migration goal.
- Connect you with registered MARA agents: share your profile information with Australian migration agencies (only if you have given explicit consent to 'share with agencies'), facilitate specific professional consultations with immigration experts.
- Improve our services: aggregated and anonymized statistical analysis of user trends, improvement of accuracy of our educational tools, development of new functionalities.
- Legal compliance: respond to valid legal requirements, protect our rights and property, prevent fraud or platform abuse.
MiggoHub allows you to control how your data is shared through two consent options:
Full Consent (share with agencies)
If you choose this option, we will share your complete profile information (including name, email, phone, and all migration data) with trusted Australian migration agencies that have FULL_ACCESS access on our platform. These agencies can use your information to contact you with professional service offers specific to your case. You can change this preference at any time from Settings.
Anonymous Consent (analysis only)
If you choose this option, your profile information will be anonymized using a unique hash. Only aggregated and statistical data without personal contact information will be shared. Migration agencies will see anonymous data (occupation, English level, experience, lead score) but will not be able to identify or contact you directly. This option is ideal if you want to explore information without receiving commercial contact.
Third-Party Services
We use trusted service providers to operate our platform: OpenAI (GPT-4) for natural language processing of the chatbot (your conversations are processed according to OpenAI's policies and are deleted after 30 days), cloud hosting services for secure database storage, email providers for system notifications. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your information and cannot use it for other purposes.
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right of access: request a copy of all information we have about you.
- Right of rectification: correct incorrect or incomplete information in your profile.
- Right to be forgotten: request complete deletion of all your data from our systems (available directly from Settings > Privacy).
- Right to portability: receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Right to withdraw consent: change your data sharing preference from 'full' to 'anonymous' at any time.
- Right to object: object to the processing of your data for direct marketing.
We implement technical and organizational security measures to protect your data: encryption of data in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest, secure authentication with hashed passwords (bcrypt), role-based restricted access to databases, daily encrypted automatic backups, continuous monitoring of suspicious activity. However, no system is 100% secure. We recommend using strong and unique passwords for your account.
We use essential cookies for platform functionality:
- Session cookies: necessary for authentication and maintaining active session.
- Preference cookies: store your preferred language (Spanish/English) and interface settings.
- We do not currently use third-party analytics or marketing cookies. If this changes in the future, we will request your explicit consent.
MiggoHub is designed for adults (18+ years). We do not intentionally collect information from minors under 18 years. If we discover that we have collected data from a minor, we will delete that information immediately.
We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will notify you of material changes by email or through a prominent notice on the platform. The 'Last updated' date at the beginning of this document indicates the most recent version.
